Story Overview

What this conversation explores.

Pema Samdrup – The Man Behind “Go Pema Go”

Popularly known as Go Pema Go on TikTok, Pema Samdrup’s story is one of struggle, pain, redemption and hope. Behind the social media personality that many people recognise lies a man who has endured some of life’s hardest challenges. His battle with alcohol contributed to the breakdown of his marriage, leaving him facing difficult days, sometimes sleeping on the streets after getting drunk and eventually finding himself in police custody.

But his story did not end there. With the support and encouragement of his boss, Pema found an opportunity to turn his life around by entering a rehabilitation centre, where he began his journey towards recovery. Today, he has been sober for almost two years, healthier and more determined than ever to stay away from alcohol and never return to his past.

While his TikTok personality may have led some people to judge him without knowing his full story, there is much more to Pema than what appears on a screen. Beyond the videos is a humble, honest and hardworking man who has faced his struggles and is determined to build a better future.

In this episode of BWK – Brokshi with Kencho, Pema shares his personal journey, reminding us that people should not be defined solely by their past mistakes or social media image. His story is a powerful reminder that with support, determination and the courage to change, it is possible to reclaim one’s life and rediscover one’s true self.
